Lasooni Dal Tadka

Prep Time: 10 Minutes | Cook Time: 25 Minutes | Serves: 4

Ingredients

  • 1 cup toor dal (arhar dal)

  • 2 tbsp ghee

  • 1 tsp cumin seeds

  • 1 onion, finely chopped

  • 2 tomatoes, finely chopped

  • 1 tsp DG1 Garlic Powder

  • ½ tsp turmeric powder

  • 1 tsp red chili powder

  • Salt to taste

  • Fresh coriander, chopped

Directions

  1. Pressure cook dal with turmeric and salt until soft, mash lightly.

  2. Heat ghee in a pan, add cumin seeds and onion, sauté till golden.

  3. Add tomatoes, red chili powder, and DG1 Garlic Powder, cook till oil separates.

  4. Pour this tadka into cooked dal, simmer for 5 minutes.

  5. Garnish with coriander and serve with steamed rice or jeera rice.
